Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Activities Coordinator to bring vibrant, engaging experiences to our senior residents. Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and implement diverse activity programs tailored to residents’ interests and abilities, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s care needs
- Lead engaging group activities such as arts and crafts, music sessions, games, outings, and themed events that encourage participation and social interaction
- Collaborate with care staff to assess individual resident needs and preferences, ensuring activities are inclusive and accessible
- Foster a positive community atmosphere by motivating residents to participate actively in daily events
- Maintain accurate records of activity participation and resident feedback to continually improve programming
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to promote upcoming activities and gather input for new ideas
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all activities and outings
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living or nursing home settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of senior care practices, including dementia care and Alzheimer’s care techniques
- Strong communication skills to connect empathetically with residents of diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrated ability to organize engaging activities that promote mental stimulation and socialization
- Caregiving experience that emphasizes patience, compassion, and attentiveness to individual needs
- Familiarity with care home environments and the unique challenges faced by seniors requiring assisted living services
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
