Job Description
We are currently seeking a Class 1 HGV Driver who is looking to start in a busy, dynamic working environment to play a vital part in our exciting Transport Team.
The successful applicant will be responsible for driving an assigned articulated vehicle, managing the operation and use of the vehicle and associated equipment, maintaining the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the vehicle, and refuelling as required.
We are looking for someone who can work independently and unsupervised, communicate effectively with the transport team, external companies, and the public whilst providing the highest level of customer care. You will need to follow written and verbal instructions, be willing to work outdoors in all types of weather, and be confident in your ability to stay within the Working Time Directive (WTD) and EU/GB driving hours rules and regulations to plan your day accordingly.
You will need to wear the correct PPE and adopt all systems and methods of work included within training programmes and documentation.
Every day, safety checks must be carried out on the vehicle and equipment whilst following health and safety guidelines, safe working practices, and undertaking work in compliance with Manual Handling Regulations. Training will be provided only where relevant.
This can be a demanding role within the business. Standard working hours will be Monday to Friday, and the salary quoted is dependent on additional hours of overtime worked that are necessary in this role.
