Nottinghamshire Police is now recruiting for apprenticeships an amazing opportunity of joining the Nottingham policing family. Our apprenticeship programme runs for 24 months. During this time apprentices gain a vast amount of work experience within the policing environment whilst in a police staff role.
The apprenticeship scheme is open to individuals who are 16 and above. Applicants who are of the age of 15 are able to apply however they must be 16 at the point of starting with Nottinghamshire Police. It is proposed that successful candidates will commence in the role towards the end of July 2026. However please note that this date may be subject to change.
What to expect
The 24 month scheme aims to equip our apprentices with various skills and knowledge across a wide academic area, while also gaining an insight into how police staff, support officers on the front line.
What are the hours and pay?
Nottinghamshire Police IS Engineer apprentices will be employed on a 24 month contract. The working week is 37 hours and as a living wage employer we offer a competitive rate of £21,909 per annum on a NVQ Level 3.
Embarking on this apprenticeship will allow you the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge, and experience in the support staff functions of Nottinghamshire Police, giving you the chance to become a valued member of the Information Services department.

Educational requirements
Minimum requirements to apply for this role are 5 GCSE’s A*- C. Candidates are required to attach their qualifications as a supporting document on their application form. Individuals who have not yet obtained their GCSE results are required to attach their predicted grades.
In addition to attaching your qualifications you also need to ensure that you attach the relevant reference information.

For current Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner staff applicants, please note that Nottinghamshire Police would be a new employer. However, an agreement has been made whereby all tenure and length of service will be honoured.
Vetting Level – Management – you must have resided in the UK for at least the last 5 years, with less than 12 months spent abroad (some exceptions for those living on a UK military base).
