Hazchem Safety Ltd are a leading manufacturer and distributer of Personal Protective Equipment and Workwear.
Due to consistent growth we are actively seeking a reliable and motivated General Warehouse Operative to join our busy warehouse team. This role involves a variety of tasks essential to the smooth operation of our storage and distribution processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling materials, operating equipment, and ensuring the accuracy and safety of all warehouse activities. Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers a dynamic working environment with opportunities for skill development to enable multi departmental working.
We operate an integrated warehouse management system so experience operating RF scanners and some computer literacy is required.
Responsibilities
- Handling materials efficiently, including loading, unloading, and moving stock within the warehouse
- Operating warehouse machinery safely and competently (training will be given)
- Managing stock levels using Warehouse Management System (WMS) software
- Picking and packing orders accurately to meet customer specifications
- Assisting with shipping and receiving procedures to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods
- Stocking shelves and maintaining organised storage areas for easy access and inventory control
- Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times during daily operations
- Assisting with general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe working environment
Experience
- Prior experience in a warehouse environment is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided
- Familiarity with materials handling equipment such as forklifts is desirable, with certification preferred but not essential
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar inventory software is beneficial
- Experience in shipping & receiving, picking & packing, stocking, or quality control will be considered an asset
- Ability to lift items safely and efficiently, including loading & unloading operations
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in order fulfilment and inventory management
Pay: £29,000.00-£31,500.00 per year
