Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chef/Cook to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes according to recipes and menu specifications
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Assist in meal planning and portion control to minimise waste
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including cleaning utensils, equipment, and work surfaces
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods
- Serve food efficiently and courteously to customers or staff as required
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times, including proper handling of food and equipment
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment
- Knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Previous experience in meal preparation and serving is desirable but not essential
- Formal culinary training or relevant qualifications are advantageous but not mandatory
