Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Stylist to join our team on a self employe/table rent position. Part-time 1-2 days only.The ideal candidate will possess a genuine love for dogs, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to handle physically demanding tasks. This role offers an opportunity to work in a supportive setting where animal welfare is the top priority, providing essential grooming and care services to our furry clients.
Days available for table rent: Mondays (A must) you will have the salon to yourself. Fridays available and alternate Saturdays available when I’m not in there myself.
Duties
- Provide grooming and styling services for animals, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process
- Assist with animal handling, including bathing, trimming, brushing, and other grooming procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of grooming areas and equipment.
- Offer exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their animals' needs and care routines
- Monitor animals during grooming for signs of distress or health issues and report concerns to veterinary staff
- Assist with general animal care duties such as feeding, walking, or behavioural support as required
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Get your own clients
Skills
- Prior experience in a dog grooming salon is highly desirable
- Dog grooming qualification
- First aid
- Strong knowledge of animal care practices and handling techniques
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional manner
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting of animals when necessary
- Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners
- Organised with attention to detail to ensure high standards of hygiene and safety are maintained at all times
- You will need to provide your own insurance & diary
