Salary: Band E - £32,166.89 to £35,664.01 (Full Time Equivalent)
Hours: 15 hours per week, delivering DASH counselling (Advice Centre)

✨Are you passionate about helping to make a difference to children and young people? We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Counsellor to join the DASH (Drugs and Alcohol Support Hub) team. ✨
Your role
As a DASH Counsellor, you will work as part of the Therapeutic Services and DASH teams, supporting young people from 11 to 25 years in Southampton who are accessing drug or alcohol support through DASH. Your role will include assessment and the delivery of one-to-one counselling and specialist therapeutic interventions of young people that have already undergone support from a DASH caseworker and have then been identified as needing therapy.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Hold a caseload of young people, providing counselling.
- Deliver counselling assessments, counselling and appropriate therapeutic interventions to young people
- Build and maintain relationships with other professionals, partners, and statutory organisations
- Ensure quality of service and maintain records and files to the required standards and preserve confidentiality.
- Ensure appropriate management, recording and monitoring of safeguarding concerns
- Take appropriate action in conjunction with other agencies to protect vulnerable people.
- Use data along with feedback and observation to evidence the impact of interventions.
- Attend and actively contribute toward clinical supervision.
- Keep up-to-date with knowledge, issues and external developments
- Demonstrate work practice in line with No Limits policies
- Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to the safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

You'll have the essentials of:
- A counselling Diploma / Degree – Level 5 qualification minimum and 1 year post qualification
- Experience of trauma work in a therapy setting
- Basic knowledge and up to date understanding of drugs and alcohol
- Membership of a nationally recognised professional body such as BACP, NCP or UKCP (up to 100% of the membership fee is paid by No Limits)
- The ability to build trusting and positive relationships with children and young people
- The ability to use IT to support your role, including the use of technology and Microsoft suite
- A commitment to personal growth, continuous development, and application of learning
You may also have:
- Experience of working with children and young people with varying emotional development and wellbeing needs.
- Qualifications or experience in alternative therapeutic practices such as creative / play therapies
- Experience of holding a caseload of children and young people and maintaining their files
- Lived experience of one or more areas that No Limits support children and young people particularly substance use
