Role Details: Multi-Trade Operative – Voids

Out of Hours: 1 in every 5 weeks | £140 weekly standby | £40 per call-out
MMP are recruiting for an experienced Multi-Trade Operative to join a respected social housing provider covering Surrey and Epsom. This permanent role focuses on void properties, ensuring homes are brought up to a high standard and ready for new tenants.
As a key member of the voids team, you will be responsible for carrying out end-to-end refurbishments and repairs on empty properties. This includes diagnosing issues, completing necessary works across multiple trades, and ensuring properties meet lettable standards. You’ll play a crucial role in delivering efficient turnaround times while maintaining excellent quality and safety standards.
Travel across Surrey and Epsom is required, with work planned as close to home as possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Full void property refurbishment and preparation for re-let
- Carrying out repairs, replacements, and upgrades across multiple trades
- Bathroom and kitchen fitting, repairs, and making-good
- Carpentry works such as door fitting, locks, skirting, and basic joinery
- Patch plastering, surface preparation, and remedial works
- Painting & decorating (full property refreshes as required)
- Damp and mould treatment, wash-downs, and basic preventative work
- General property repairs including fixtures, fittings, and finishing works
- Ensuring all work is completed to lettable standards within target times
- Maintaining accurate records using a PDA for daily job completion
What You Will Need:
- Proven experience as a Multi-Trade Operative, ideally within voids
- Social housing experience (desirable but not essential)
- Strong all-round refurbishment and maintenance skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Full UK driving licence (max 3 points)
- Basic DBS clearance or willingness to obtain
- Strong attention to detail and quality of work
- Good communication skills
