We are re-imagining after-school activities in Edinburgh! At Future Academy, we ditch traditional classroom setups and dry textbooks. Instead, we give children early exposure to exciting career paths through immersive, play-based learning. Right now, we are looking for a lively, creative Little Chef Instructor to take charge of our culinary and baking modules.
The Role
We need someone with impressive kitchen know-how who naturally connects with young minds. You will inspire children to love cooking, guide them through kitchen safety, and help them build real-world culinary confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Host fun, interactive cooking and baking sessions for groups of young chefs.
- Simplify recipes and kitchen techniques into easy, age-appropriate steps.
- Maintain top standards of safety, hygiene, and organization in the cooking space.
- Build a supportive atmosphere where kids feel excited to experiment and taste new flavors.
- Bring enthusiasm, patience, and positive vibes to every session.
What We Are Looking For:
- Culinary Talent: Strong, practical cooking and baking skills (professional chefs, culinary students, or passionate home cooks welcome!).
- Youth Experience: Direct background in mentoring, teaching, leading, or working with children.
- Top-Notch Communication: Excellent public speaking skills and the ability to keep a group of kids fully engaged.
- Safety Awareness: A strong commitment to child safety. An active PVG (Disclosure Scotland) scheme membership is required (or willingness to apply for one).
- Location: Based in or near Edinburgh.
