Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Worker specialising in working with children. The successful candidate will provide essential care and support to children in a residential setting, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development. This role involves working closely with children to promote positive behaviour, assist with daily activities, and implement personalised care plans. Duties
- Support children with their daily routines, meal preparation, and recreational activities
- Foster a safe and nurturing environment that promotes emotional and social development
- Assist in implementing individualised care plans tailored to each child's needs
- Encourage positive behaviour through effective communication and behavioural strategies
- Facilitate educational and leisure activities to promote learning and socialisation
- Maintain accurate records of progress, incidents, and relevant observations
- Drive children to appointments, school, or activities as required, ensuring safe transportation
- Collaborate with colleagues, families, and external professionals to support the child's overall well-being
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in a childcare or support setting is desirable
- Valid driving licence and ability to drive safely for transportation needs
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members
- Knowledge of child development principles and ability to follow care plans accurately
- IT literacy for maintaining records and documentation efficiently
- Compassionate nature with excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work flexibly within shift patterns that may include evenings or weekends if necessary
