Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Shuttering Carpenter to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and removing formwork (shuttering) that shapes concrete structures for commercial and industrial projects. Your expertise will help ensure the safety, precision, and quality of our concrete builds. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications to determine formwork requirements.
- Construct, assemble, and install formwork using hand tools, power tools, and welding techniques to create molds for concrete pouring.
- Ensure the formwork is properly supported, aligned, and secured to withstand pouring pressures.
- Remove formwork carefully after concrete has set, maintaining the integrity of the structure.
- Perform heavy lifting and physical tasks safely while handling materials such as timber, steel, and masonry components.
- Conduct regular inspections of formwork for stability and safety compliance throughout the construction process.
- Collaborate with other trades such as masonry, roofing, and mechanical teams to coordinate project timelines and quality standards.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Shuttering Carpenter or in a similar carpentry role within commercial or industrial construction environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to formwork systems, welding techniques, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Familiarity with roofing structures, masonry work, and heavy lifting procedures.
- Ability to operate commercial driving equipment may be beneficial for material transportation on-site.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to construction sites is essential for maintaining a secure work environment.
