Overview
We are looking for a Clinical Lead Nurse to join our Team in Beverly Lodge Nursing Home. The shifts are 3 X 12 hours long, from 8am to 8pm between Monday to Sunday.
Sponsorship is not available for this role.
Purpose of the Job
The post holder will provide clinical nursing leadership within the nursing home. This includes, (but is not exhaustive):
- Clinical management of the nursing home and its resources
- Liaise effectively with the Home Manager regarding all matters pertaining to the home.
- To monitor resident care and nursing care standards through the auditing process and implement processes to ensure corrective action is taken and maintained as required.
- Providing clinical expertise through actively promoting a culture of education and practice development
- Guiding, instructing and monitoring professional nursing staff, student nurses, nursing care assistants and all other ancillary staff employed in the home
- Practicing in accordance with the NMC codes, statutory and regulatory requirements.
Main Tasks/Responsibilities
CLINICAL
- To demonstrate clinical expertise and professional standards of leadership within the field of nursing.
- To ensure adherence to the DHSSPS guidelines for the safe handling administration, storage and custody of medicines and medicinal products.
- Liaising with members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team required to meet the needs of the resident. This will also include facilitating Care Reviews with the residents Care Manager
- To adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Practice at all times.
- To promote a culture of safe practice ensuring that staff are aware of Health and Safety policies and procedures to minimize the risk to residents, staff and others.
- Participate in induction and teaching programmes of staff
- Assist in the training of qualified staff, health care assistants, student nurses etc, ensuring compliance to NMC and NISCC codes, as appropriate, to support learning and assessment in practice.
- To contribute to the implementation of improvement to working methods and practices.
- To participate in and contribute to changes and improvements within the home.
GENERAL
- To assist the Deputy Manager and Home Manager on a day to day basis with the overall management of the nursing home.
- To promote and enhance resident focused care in the home.
- To maintain professional standards, ensuring that standards are continually monitored, and corrective action taken where appropriate.
- To develop own supervisory skills and professional competence in keeping with the NMC revalidation process.
- To comply with the Adult Safeguarding Policy and relevant HSCT protocols, ensuring appropriate measures are put in place to prevent or protect our residents from harm.
- To Comply with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) at all times and promote this culture within the work team.
- Understand, Observe and Adhere to the company policies and Procedures
PERSONAL
- To complete all mandatory training and attend any relevant training sessions to ensure you are fully equipped to perform your job effectively.
- Adherence to the Staff Uniform Code at all times and address with staff not compliant
- Maintain effective communication with all staff and promote good working relationships
- Act as a role model to other members of staff.
- To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required for the effective operation of the home.

Essential Criteria:
- Registered on NMC Live Register as a Level 1 Nurse.
- At least 2 years’ post-qualification experience in a similar care setting.
- Effective in leading and motivating people, and a strong communicator.
- Compassionate and caring.
- Recognises best clinical practice and high care standards.
- General administration proficiency.
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience in a leadership role.
- Car owner with full driving license.
