Trust-Care is recruiting caring, motivated, and reliable Support Workers to support vulnerable adults across South Lanarkshire.
This rewarding opportunity is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping others and making a lasting difference in their local community. You will work with adults experiencing a variety of challenges, including homelessness, mental health issues, substance misuse, and social isolation, providing the support they need to build confidence, develop independence, and achieve their personal goals.
Working within supported accommodation and community-based services, you will deliver person-centred care and support tailored to each individual's unique needs, encouraging positive outcomes and enhancing overall wellbeing.
The Role
As a Support Worker, you will:
- Provide practical and emotional support to adults with a range of support needs.
- Assist individuals in developing the skills required to live independently and sustain their accommodation.
- Support service users to access healthcare, housing services, benefits, training, education, and employment opportunities.
- Encourage and accompany individuals to appointments when required.
- Promote social inclusion by supporting participation in community activities, groups, and events.
- Build professional, wellness checks, trusting relationships that empower individuals to make positive choices.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to support planning and risk assessments.
- Act as a positive role model, offering encouragement and guidance to those you support.
What We're Looking For
- At least six months' experience within health and social care or a similar support role.
- A compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgemental approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build rapport and establish positive working relationships.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable adults to achieve greater independence and improved wellbeing.
