We don't do standard estate agency, and this isn't a standard estate agency job.
At AshdownJones we sell some of the most distinctive homes in the Lake District and the Lune Valley. Architect-designed houses with lake views. Farmhouses with three acres and a story. Homes where the setting matters as much as the square footage. Our job is to understand what makes a home special, present it beautifully, and get it in front of the right buyer. Not just list it and hope.
That takes a particular kind of person to run properly, and that's who we're hiring.
What this role actually is
You'll manage property marketing projects from the first conversation with an owner right through to completion. Styling the home, launching it properly, handling viewings, running negotiations, keeping everyone calm and informed along the way. You'll be the person clients trust to make a big, often emotional process feel handled.
No two weeks look the same. One day you're briefing a photographer at a fell-side house, the next you're talking a nervous seller through an offer. If that sounds like more fun than admin, you're in the right place.
You don't need estate agency experience
Honestly, we'd rather you didn't. We care far more about how you are with people, how sharp your eye is for detail, and whether you take genuine pride in doing things properly. People from sales, hospitality, marketing or client-facing backgrounds often make brilliant AJ Client Executives.
You'll probably recognise yourself here:
- People trust you quickly, and you never take that for granted
- You notice the thing everyone else missed
- You get on with things without waiting to be asked
- You can juggle five priorities and still remember the small stuff
- Pressure doesn't rattle you, it focuses you
- You want your work to be good, not just done
- You like being part of a team that's actually good at what it does
A need for creativity is often what attracts people to this job, but the people are why they stay.
What you'll be doing
- Building real relationships with clients, not just managing accounts
- Styling and preparing homes so they show at their absolute best
- Running viewings and presenting properties with confidence
- Coordinating launches, working closely with our photographers, designers and suppliers
- Keeping communication clear and consistent at every stage, for clients and buyers alike
- Managing sales progression from offer to completion
- Handling negotiations, and the occasional tricky moment, calmly
- Supporting our social media and brand presence
- Keeping the behind-the-scenes running smoothly
