Job Title: Kitchen Porter
Location: Strikers Sports Bar
Reports to: Head Chef / Kitchen Manager
Job Purpose:
The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, supporting chefs with basic food preparation, and keeping work areas hygienic and organized.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wash, dry, and store kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery, and cooking equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, storage areas, and bins.
- Assist with receiving, unpacking, and storing deliveries of food and supplies.
- Ensure proper waste disposal and recycling in line with health and safety standards.
- Support chefs by preparing basic ingredients (e.g., peeling, chopping, washing).
- Keep stock of cleaning materials and report shortages to the kitchen manager.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations at all times.
- Assist in setting up and closing down the kitchen as required.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a kitchen porter or in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good teamwork skills and a positive attitude.
- Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and safety standards.
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Pay: From £12.50 per hour
