Vu Ja De Accountancy is a growing & we are looking for a Practice Accountant to join our values led team.
This is not a role for someone who just wants to process figures. We are looking for an investigative accountant, someone curious, practical & experienced, who asks 'why?', spots what does not look right & help clients understand their numbers properly.
You will work closely with the funder, support client delivery, review accounts & tax work, improve processes & help the grow sustainably.
The right person will be technically strong, collaborative, organised, & happy to roll their sleeves up in a small, but growing practice. If you are an experienced Accountant who wants to make a real difference in a supportive, human, client focused practice, we would love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing, reviewing & analysing accounts for sole traders, partnerships & limited companies.
- Preparing & reviewing self-assessment tax returns
- Supporting VAT, bookkeeping, payroll & MTD processes where needed.
- Reviewing work prepared by other team members before it is submitted
- Asking the right questions to understand the 'why' behind the numbers
- Working with the Director to improve capacity, deadlines & consistency across the practice
Skills required:
- Strong accountancy experience, ideally within practice
- Experience with accounts preparation
- Experience with self assessments & tax returns
- Good understanding of VAT, Bookkeeping & small business accounts
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage deadlines
- Confidence using accounts software
- Experience of using XERO
- Ideally AAT/ACCA/ACA qualified
