Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable evening cleaner to join our bakery team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and hygienic environment in the bakery premises after business hours. This role is essential to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and safety are upheld, supporting the production team’s efficiency and compliance with health regulations. Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial work is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of bakery floors, work surfaces, equipment, and storage areas using appropriate cleaning agents and tools
- Ensure all waste is disposed of correctly and recycling protocols are followed
- Clean and sanitise restrooms and communal areas as required
- Maintain cleanliness of windows, doors, and other surfaces to uphold hygiene standards
- Follow health and safety guidelines during all cleaning activities
- Restock cleaning supplies and report any maintenance issues or hazards to management promptly
- Adhere to scheduled cleaning routines to ensure all areas are maintained consistently
Experience
- Prior experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is preferred
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures is advantageous
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Organised, detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Previous experience in a food production environment or bakery setting is a plus but not essential
