Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes and standards, ensuring flavour, presentation, and quality are maintained.
- Oversee specific sections of the kitchen, such as grill, pastry, or sauce stations, ensuring smooth operation during service.
- Assist in the organisation and cleanliness of the kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of orders while maintaining high standards of food quality.
- Monitor stock levels within your section and communicate needs for replenishment to the head chef or sous chef.
- Support junior kitchen staff through training and guidance, fostering a positive team environment.
- Ensure all food preparation complies with health and safety standards, including proper storage and handling of ingredients.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant setting.
- Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and meal presentation.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management.
- Experience working with diverse cuisines or specialised culinary techniques is desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Previous experience serving guests or working directly with customers is advantageous but not essential. Pay: £12.71-£15.00 per hour
