We are seeking an experienced HR Adviser to join our HR team on a 12-month, fixed-term contract. The role will take the lead in providing a comprehensive HR service for the Office of the Clerk of Tynwald.

The HR Adviser will manage the entire HR lifecycle, acting as the central point of contact and expertise on all HR matters. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining all HR processes, advising managers on people and leading the development initiatives in the office.
This is a highly operational role combining the ability to provide day-to-day support and offer high-quality people-relations advice. Working independently, you will require a proactive mindset to ensure policy compliance, take full ownership of end-to-end HR operational activities and lead on delivery of service. Your expertise and insights will be instrumental in developing and implementing strategies that develop and retain staff ensuring that the Office of the Clerk of Tynwald is viewed as a highly desirable employer.
Working with key stakeholders, including senior managers, staff, union representatives and the Office of Human Resources in the Isle of Man Government, you will contribute to the delivery of the Clerk of Tynwald services and achievement of organisational goals (Statement of Purpose).

You will be joining a small, friendly and professional organisation of just over 30 people who work hard to deliver the wide range of services expected in a modern parliament.
Corporate and Engagement Services deliver high-quality, customer-focused administrative and facilities services to Tynwald Court, its Branches, Committees, Members and Clerks. It is a busy, quality-conscious division which combine the required work on governance and compliance with providing engagement and educational opportunities for both the Manx community and for those visiting the Island in a professional or personal capacity. The team is proud to have the responsibility for the organisation of the Tynwald Ceremony and related events. The provision of HR services for the management and staff of the Office of the Clerk of Tynwald also sits within this Service Area.
The work of this small office is varied, and flexibility and adaptability are key qualities of all staff. The post holder will be expected to contribute to other tasks, cover for other team members and, on occasion, assist with work in other areas of the Clerk of Tynwald’s Office to deliver the wide range of services expected in a modern parliament.
