Our Consulting Technical team is looking for an Assistant Manager or experienced Supervisor to play a key role in delivering Consulting-wide projects, with a particular focus on Finance Function Support.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to make a real impact by helping to design and enhance systems, processes and technical solutions that reflect best practice and support the delivery of high-quality, commercially focused outputs.
You’ll work collaboratively across Consulting, partnering closely with teams on technical accounting matters, systems development, reviews and queries. Building strong relationships across all levels of Finance Function Support will be central to your success, allowing you to develop and leverage a broad internal network. The role is varied and fast-paced, requiring strong organisational skills, intellectual curiosity, and a proactive approach to challenging existing ways of working whilst supporting change.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Work as part of the Quality Risk and Compliance team, alongside the Finance Function Support client facing teams to deliver and maintain technical solutions that meet legislative, best practice and internal requirements, ensuring a consistently high-quality service.
- Support the design, development, implementation and ongoing improvement of internal systems including:
- Setting priorities and assessing business cases for proposed solutions

Defining business processes to enable automated and efficient solutions

Supporting the creation and rollout of internally developed tools

Training Finance Function Support teams on best practice and gathering feedback for future enhancement.
- Assist with the maintenance of existing solutions, including internal library updates, accounts production format updates and changes to standard mapping charts.

Coordinate and participate in user testing to ensure solutions meet business needs.
- Provide day-to-day application support to Finance Function Support teams via the ServiceNow support desk.
- Provide accounting technical and policy query support through the support desk FreshService, including analysing query trends and developing knowledge articles to address recurring issues, as well as escalating higher risk issues.
- Stay up to date with key publications and emerging issues, contributing to internal communications.
- Develop procedural, policy and training documentation, as well as intranet content.
- Complete quality reviews in collaboration with the Quality Assurance Department.
- Help maintain quality and risk registers, including areas such as authorisations..
- Contribute to wider Consulting Technical projects, bringing insight and support to key firm-wide initiatives.
What we are looking for:
We’re looking for a dynamic individual who enjoys variety, is keen to learn, and brings a curious, questioning mindset. You’ll be comfortable working nationally, without the need to relocate, though some travel will be required to collaborate with colleagues across regions.
You will ideally have:
- Experience at Assistant Manager or experienced Supervisor level in an accounting, financial reporting or audit role.
- Part or fully qualified accountancy qualification (ICAEW, ICAS, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- A proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- A strong interest in systems development and testing, with hands-on experience in systems testing.
- Experience acting as a subject matter expert or champion in a specific technical area.
- A passion for innovation and for maximising the use of digital and technology tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to get to the root of issues.
- Experience embedding new ways of working and championing change.
- The ability to manage projects and deliver your own work within agreed timelines.
- A self-motivated approach, with the confidence to work independently.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
- Clear, confident written communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
