Job Overview
We are looking for an assistant to work in ourTeignmouth Shop. The successful candidate must have a passion and experience for food preparation and customer services. This role is essential in ensuring that our shop operates smoothly and efficiently, providing excellent service to our customers while maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
Five days per week to include some Saturdays. Working hours from 7.30am until 3.30pm
This position is not suitable for anyone in full time education.
Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation tasks under the guidance of the manager during training.
- Ensure that all food items are stored properly and adhere to food safety regulations.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen and shop area, including washing utensils and equipment.
- Managing inventory levels, including receiving deliveries and restocking supplies as needed.
- Engage with customers, providing information about products and assisting with their needs.
- Participate in daily kitchen operations, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
- One year's experience in food preparation role is preffered.
- A keen interest in cooking and a willingness to learn new skills related to food preparation.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards is essential.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with customers and colleagues alike.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts as required by the shop's operational needs.
- Must be able to bake a decent scone following our very own recipe.
