About the Role
Atlas Electrical & Security Ltd is looking for a skilled, reliable, and motivated Electrician to join our growing team.
The role will involve working across a variety of sites, carrying out the installation, testing, maintenance, fault-finding, and repair of electrical and security systems.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has a strong attention to detail, and can deliver a high standard of workmanship while working safely and professionally.
This is a varied role offering the opportunity to work on a range of electrical and security projects, with CCTV and security system experience highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, test, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
- Carry out electrical fault-finding and diagnostics, resolving issues efficiently and effectively.
- Perform inspection and testing in accordance with BS 7671 and relevant industry standards.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, plans, and technical documentation.
- Install, maintain, and fault-find security and CCTV systems where required.
- Work alongside project managers, colleagues, clients, and other trades to complete projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Complete relevant documentation, including test results, job sheets, and records of work carried out.
- Ensure all work complies with current regulations, company procedures, and health & safety requirements.
- Maintain a professional attitude when working on customer and commercial sites.
- Keep work areas clean, organised, and safe.
Essential Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience working as an electrician.
- A strong understanding of electrical installations, wiring systems, circuit protection, and electrical safety.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using electrical hand tools, test equipment, and power tools.
- The ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics.
- Good attention to detail and pride in delivering quality workmanship.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team.
- A strong work ethic, reliable attitude, and professional approach.
- The ability to travel to different sites as required.
Essential Qualifications & Requirements
- 18th Edition – BS 7671 – Essential
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing – Essential
- Full UK Driving Licence – Essential
- Own reliable means of transport.
- Willingness to travel to various customer and project sites.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Experience
Experience in any of the following would be highly beneficial:
- CCTV installation and maintenance
- Security systems
- Access control
- Intruder alarms
- Commercial electrical installations
- Additional electrical qualifications
