Cidon is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our established commercial team, working on groundworks and reinforced concrete structures packages across the building and civil engineering sectors.
With a strong pipeline of secured projects and frameworks, this role offers the opportunity to support our continued growth and reinforce our reputation as a leading specialist contractor.
The role will be based from our Head Office in Barnsley or our regional office in Skelmersdale, delivering projects valued between £5m and £30m+.
The Role
You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders from first principles, providing commercial insight throughout the full tender lifecycle, and supporting the successful transition of projects into delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate, competitive tenders from drawings and specifications
- Prepare detailed rates from first principles for Bills of Quantities
- Measure and take off quantities from construction drawings
- Lead target price and tender review processes
- Liaise with senior management to incorporate strategic input
- Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to secure firm, competitive quotations
- Manage multiple tenders concurrently at various stages
- Request and manage additional information from clients and design teams
- Attend pre- and post-contract meetings
- Handover successful tenders to construction delivery teams
- Identify commercial risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions
Experience & Skills Required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in groundworks and/or reinforced concrete structures (essential)
- Proven success converting tenders on projects up to £30m
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and technology
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment
