Overview
We’re looking for a reliable, hard-working Kitchen Porter to join our brilliant team and help keep our kitchen clean, organised and running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all kitchen areas, including dishware, utensils, and equipment, are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety standards
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors
- Support the kitchen team by restocking supplies and organising storage areas for smooth operations
- Handle waste disposal efficiently while maintaining cleanliness in all workspaces
- Help with loading and unloading deliveries, ensuring proper storage of ingredients and supplies
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and safety throughout the kitchen environment
Skills
- Strong understanding of hygiene standards and safety protocols in food service settings
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Previous restaurant, hotel, or culinary experience is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting colleagues and serving guests
- Basic knowledge of hospitality practices including serving and customer service basics is beneficial
- Willingness to undertake physical tasks such as lifting, standing for extended periods, and moving supplies
- Experience in food preparation or kitchen environments is advantageous but not required; enthusiasm to learn is key!
