Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting young people in their development and well-being. This role involves working closely with children and adolescents, providing guidance, mentorship, and educational support to help them thrive in various environments.
Duties
- Engage with young people to build trusting relationships and create a safe, supportive atmosphere.
- Facilitate educational activities and workshops that promote personal growth and skill development.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to help youth navigate challenges and achieve their goals.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to support the needs of each child effectively.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of recreational activities that encourage teamwork and social interaction.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions, progress, and any incidents that occur during sessions.
- Ensure compliance with all safeguarding policies and procedures to protect the welfare of the children.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents in a mentoring or teaching capacity is essential.
- A background in youth work or special education is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
