Location: We have hybrid working in place, with 1-2 days per week, in our office in Canary Wharf.
We're looking for a strategic, analytically minded and collaborative Senior Resource Planning Analyst who is passionate about turning complex information into meaningful insight that supports delivery success across the organisation.
What exactly will you be doing?
As our Senior Resource Planning Analyst, you will play a key role in helping AAT make informed decisions about how we deploy our resources across projects, programmes and business-as-usual activity. You will provide forward-looking analysis of resource demand, capacity, utilisation and constraints, ensuring leaders have the insight they need to prioritise work, manage risk and deliver effectively.
As part of the PMO team, you’ll be working closely with project managers, delivery managers, and functional leads from across AAT to translate organisational priorities into practical, evidence-based resource plans. This is a senior analytical role that offers significant influence across the business, helping to shape planning decisions and improve organisational delivery performance.
You will support scenario planning, identify resource-related risks and dependencies, and provide clear, decision-focused reporting that enables effective prioritisation and governance. You'll also play an important role in improving resource management processes, reporting and data quality across the organisation.
Major objectives
Your major objectives will include:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date resource plans covering projects, programmes and business-as-usual activity across the organisation.
- Analyse resource demand, capacity and utilisation to identify risks, constraints, dependencies and opportunities.
- Produce forward-looking forecasts that support realistic planning, prioritisation and delivery commitments.
- Work with project and delivery managers to translate initiatives, roadmaps and strategic priorities into clear resource demand profiles.
- Support scenario planning and option analysis, assessing the impact of changes in scope, priorities, timing or funding.
- Identify and communicate trade-offs where resource demand exceeds available capacity.
- Provide constructive challenge and practical resource insight to project and programme teams.
- Monitor and escalate delivery risks arising from resourcing issues, including skill gaps, workload pressures and single points of failure.
- Produce concise, insight-led reporting for senior leaders, governance forums and the PMO.
- Ensure resource planning data, forecasts and assumptions are accurate, transparent and auditable.
- Drive continuous improvement in resource management processes, reporting standards and planning tools.
What are we looking for?

Significant experience in resource planning, capacity management, workforce planning or PMO analysis roles.
- Experience working within project, programme or portfolio delivery environments.
- Strong understanding of resource and capacity planning principles and the impact of resource constraints on delivery outcomes.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into meaningful insight and recommendations.
- Confidence engaging, influencing and constructively challenging senior stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to understand planning assumptions, dependencies and delivery risks.
- Experience producing clear, concise reporting and decision-support information for a range of audiences.
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced and changing environments.
- Familiarity with portfolio, planning or resource management tools.
- A relevant professional qualification, or equivalent experience, in resource management, PMO, portfolio management, business analysis or a related discipline.
