Abraham House is a residential care home supporting up to 30 people living with dementia. We’re looking for two experienced Senior Care Assistants to join our friendly team. We have one position for days and one position for nights, full-time or part-time.
About the role:
As a Senior Care Assistant, you’ll help lead the team to deliver person-centred, compassionate care. You’ll support and guide colleagues, promote dignity and choice, and help maintain a warm, homely atmosphere for our residents.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing high-quality personal care and support to residents
- Supervising and supporting Care Assistants on shift
- Administering medication in line with policies and training
- Completing care records accurately and promptly
- Contributing to care planning and handovers
- Liaising with families, professionals, and colleagues
- Promoting best practice in infection control, health & safety, and safeguarding
Skills and experience required:
- Previous experience in a senior care role (ideally within dementia care)
- A genuine passion for supporting older people living with dementia
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Good understanding of care planning and record keeping
- Good understanding of CQC standards and requirements relevant to residential care.
- Ability to remain calm, kind, and organised under pressure
- Keen to continue learning and willing to undertake further training
