Job Purpose
To support the efficient operation of the book warehouse and store by receiving, storing, locating, moving, and preparing books and related materials for distribution or archiving. The role involves a high level of manual handling and requires attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to health and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
· Receive, unload, and inspect incoming deliveries of books and materials.
· Sort, shelve, and organise stock within designated storage areas.
· Pick and prepare book orders for dispatch.
· Move boxes, pallets, and stock safely throughout the facility using approved handling techniques.
· Conduct stock checks and assist with inventory management activities.
· Ensure books and materials are stored correctly to prevent damage.
· Keep work areas clean, organised, and free from hazards.
· Follow all health and safety procedures, including manual handling guidelines.
· Assist with team projects, relocations, and stock audits as required.
Physical Requirements
· This role involves regular physical activity, including:
· Frequent lifting and carrying of boxes weighing up to [e.g., 20 kg].
· Repetitive bending, reaching, and stretching.
· Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
· Working at varying shelf heights using approved access equipment where necessary.

Desirable Skills and Experience
· Previous experience in a warehouse, archive, library, repository, or logistics environment.
· Experience using stock management or inventory systems.
· Manual handling training certification
Pay: £13.45 per hour
