INTRODUCTION
Regents Theological College is the National Training Centre of the Elim Pentecostal Church. It provides a range of theology courses at undergraduate, masters and doctorate levels all validated by the University of Chester.
The Elim Conference Centre is an integral part of Elim's International Centre and the Regents Campus, offering accommodation for up to 120 guests, plus a range of meeting and leisure facilities. Fitted out to a high standard, it offers an unrivalled experience in the Christian conference centre market.
The Elim International Centre is situated in Malvern, deep in the Malvern Hills which has been classified as an ‘area of outstanding beauty’. It is set in 34 acres of woodland, 812 feet above sea level, granting us with amazing views over the Herefordshire countryside.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the role is a range of multi skilled tasks in respect of the maintenance and development of all aspects of the Elim International Centre’s buildings and infrastructure. Key elements of the role include:
· Working to a maintenance request ‘ticket’ system as they arise for general day to day maintenance issues.
· Working on small to medium sized maintenance/building projects to all EIC buildings
· Being able to work using own initiative and report any issue found to Facilities Manager.
· Being able to self motivate and assess jobs as and when required.
· The need to carry out multi skilled tasks connected with all maintenance issues.
· Help with the maintenance and cleaning of the heated outdoor swimming pool.
· Monthly inspection and the recording of fire extinguishers and fire escape routes and exits.
· Monthly inspections and the recording of store cupboards.
· Carry out the weekly testing of all EIC building fire alarm systems when required to do so.
· Involvement in Fire Drills to all EIC buildings.
· Inclusion to the on call cover rota for emergencies out of hours maintenance issues.
· Involvement in the monthly legionella checks.
· Involvement in the monthly and annual emergency light testing.
· Moving furniture when required
Note - Due to the call-out rota and certain events, occasional evening work and week-ends will be required.
THE PERSON
You will be a well organised person and motivated self-starter. Ideally you will be qualified and/or experienced, with a good blend of working skills in all maintenance tasks. Previous experience and/or qualifications relating to working within a maintenance operation at a large facility or a construction background would be a distinct advantage.
The ideal candidate would also have:
· Strong levels of technical capability in a variety of areas of maintenance.
· Strong focus on customer service and relationship and achieving through delivering high levels of customer satisfaction.
· A “can do” solution based approach which looks to identify ways of dealing with difficult or unusual problems.
· Attention to detail to ensure that jobs are thoroughly and effectively carried out.
· Ability to plan and work on own initiative when required.
· People based approach which leads to a good team spirit amongst staff.
· Good communication skills with a friendly and approachable style.
