We are looking for a proactive and skilled Automation Engineer to join our fast-growing team working across a variety of social housing and commercial contracts. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys varied work, problem-solving, and delivering excellent customer service.
You will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of automatic doors, gates, barriers, and related automation systems. The role combines reactive fault-finding callouts with planned preventative maintenance and installation projects across multiple client sites.
As an Automation Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

Responding to reactive callouts and diagnosing faults efficiently

Carrying out installations, servicing, repairs, and planned maintenance

Working on automatic doors, gates, barriers, roller shutters, and access systems

Conducting site surveys and system inspections

Accurately completing digital job reports and documentation
-
Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations

Maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service

Participating in an out-of-hours callout rota when required

Supporting clients across social housing and commercial environments
- Strong experience working with:
- Automatic door operators
-
Gate automation systems
-
Roller shutters
-
Barriers and automated entrance systems
- Experience with manufacturers such as FAAC, CAME, BFT, Hörmann, or similar is highly desirable

Relevant industry qualifications such as DHF, ADSA, or equivalent

Good understanding of BS EN 16005 and DHF guidelines

Ability to read and interpret:
- Technical drawings

Wiring diagrams

Schematics
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

Full UK Driving Licence
