Job Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and hardworking Warehouse Operator to join our team. The Warehouse Operator will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the warehouse by assisting in the receiving, storing, and dispatching of goods. This is a hands-on role that requires an understanding of warehouse procedures, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
The hours for the role are 6am to 3pm - these are subject to change inline with business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming goods, ensuring that shipments are checked for accuracy against packing lists and delivery receipts.
- Inspect products for damages or discrepancies and report issues to the Warehouse Manager.
- Ensure proper documentation of goods received and assist with inventory updates.
Stock Management & Organisation:
- Assist in organising and storing inventory in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain proper storage conditions for different types of goods, ensuring they are stored safely and securely.
- Keep track of stock levels and ensure the warehouse is well organised for easy access and efficient picking.
Order Picking & Packing:
- Accurately pick goods according to customer orders and prepare shipments.
- Pack goods securely to prevent damage during transit and ensure they are labelled correctly with appropriate shipping documents.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods from trucks and containers.
Inventory Control:
- Assist in inventory counts, ensuring that stock levels are maintained and accurately recorded.
- Support regular stock checks and cycle counting to ensure proper inventory management.
- Report discrepancies or stock shortages to the Warehouse Manager.
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to health and safety standards and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
- Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and according to guidelines.
- Always maintain cleanliness and organisation of the warehouse.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Assist with the preparation of shipping documents, including packing lists, invoices, and delivery notes.
- Ensure that all necessary paperwork is accurately completed and filed.
- Support the Warehouse Manager in maintaining accurate records of goods movements.
Team Support:
- Work closely with other warehouse staff, as well as the operations and logistics teams, to ensure smooth workflow and timely shipments.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with freight forwarding, shipping, and receiving processes is a plus.
NOTE: There are shift hours for the role, one shift is 6am to 3pm, the other 8.15am to 5.15pm - these are subject to change inline with business needs.
