We are looking for a kind and positive person to join our small, friendly care home. As a bank Night Care Assistant, you will work as part of our dedicated care team providing the best care for our residents and be a part of their on going life story.
You will get to know our residents and what matters the most to them so you can support them in the best way possible by recognising their individual choice.
Every night is different and hard work is required, but each morning, you will go home knowing you have made a difference to the lives of our residents.
You will support our residents with their individual night time routines including, medication administration and personal care. While offering emotional support, encouragement and updating care notes. Overnight, the role includes a general tidy of the kitchen and lounge area. Setting up the dining room for breakfast. Also, completing any laundry and ironing as this is a rolling 24 hour need. In the morning you and your colleague will support with any early drinks and medication that requires administering. Alongside, supporting any resident that wishes to get up, this is their personal choice and is never an expectation.
The position is to work alongside another care staff member. The position is for up to two nights a week, working on alternate weekends. There will be holiday cover and overtime available.
You will need to be confident with using the telephone and contacting out of hours or emergency services in a calm and professional manner. You will also be required to use our digital care systems.
Experience preferred but not essential as we provide inhouse training and access to L2 + Adult Care Worker qualification, along with face to face support, supervision and a full induction. Including Safeguarding.
We are required to ensure that we comply with safe staffing regulations. This means that we must have suitable references and a checkable work history. We are required to ensure that these checks are in place prior to a candidate starting with us. Holiday entitlement is worked into the hourly rate at 12.07%.
