Overview
We are seeking passionate and dedicated female swimming teachers to join our aquatic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sports coaching and teaching, with a genuine enthusiasm for helping individuals develop their swimming skills. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to inspire confidence and promote water safety among learners of all ages and abilities. There is a 1 hour shift available on Thursday evenings 8pm-9.30pm at Tong Leadership Academy on a self-employed basis.
Duties
- Deliver engaging and safe swimming lessons tailored to the needs of participants, from beginners to advanced swimmers of all ages
- Work as part of a team
- Plan, organise and follow lesson plans as well as schemes of work, that promote skill development, water safety, and enjoyment
- Monitor participants’ progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement
- Maintain a safe swimming environment by adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
- Assist in organising swimming events or competitions as required
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required
- Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that motivates learners and builds their confidence in the water
Requirements
- Proven experience in sports coaching or teaching within a swimming environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and encourage learners of all ages
- SEQ/STA Swimming Teacher level 2 qualifications or equivalent
- NRASTC / Swim teacher safety award is desirable
- Swim England Safeguarding course or willingness to complete
- Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
- Personal swim teacher insurance or willingness to obtain
- Ability to work 1 hour every Thursday
- Passion for teaching and developing others’ swimming abilities
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism in all activities
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £18.00-£20.00 per hour
