Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Daytime Cafe Chef to assist in curating a great fast casual dining experience for our guests in a brand new takeaway only concept . This role is perfect for a motivated culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. As the Daytime Cafe Chef, you will oversee food preparation, ensure food safety standards are met, and manage daily kitchen operations with enthusiasm and leadership. You will be required to place orders in the absence of the head chef and be able to work on your own on quieter days. This is a brand new opening so it will require a good level of trial and error when it comes to service and prep. This role will also require taking customer orders and general customer service, therefore a good level of spoken English and a natural enthusiasm will be needed :)
Duties
- Help lead food production and preparation for all cafe menu items, ensuring quality and consistency in every dish
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to foster a collaborative team environment
- Manage food safety protocols, maintaining cleanliness, proper storage, and compliance with health regulations
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure we provide consistent service
- Help with quarterly menu changes and other ventures in due course
Requirements
- Proven experience in food production, cooking, or culinary roles within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen operations
- Excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with serving in a cafe or casual dining environment is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high-quality standards

Weekend availability is essential, this is a day time only role, please do not apply if you can't commit to early starts.
Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour
