Trainee/Semi Skilled Drainage Engineer

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Trainee/Semi Skilled Drainage Engineer.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career within the drainage industry. No previous drainage experience is essential, as full training will be provided. We are looking for someone with the right attitude, a willingness to learn and who isn’t afraid of getting stuck into a practical, hands-on role.
The Role
Working alongside experienced drainage engineers, you will receive practical, on-the-job training across a wide range of drainage services. As your experience and competence develop, you will progress towards working independently as a fully trained Drainage Engineer.
Your training will include:
· High-pressure water jetting (HPWJ)
· Clearing blocked drains, toilets, sinks and gullies
· CCTV drainage surveys
· Drain cleaning and maintenance
· Descaling and root removal
· Working with drainage machinery and specialist equipment
· Identifying drainage defects and faults
· Completing job reports and recording findings
· Working safely on domestic and commercial sites
· Maintaining company vehicles, tools and equipment
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need previous drainage experience, but you will need to be:
· Reliable and punctual
· Hardworking with a good work ethic
· Willing to learn and develop new skills
· Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
· Comfortable carrying out physical and sometimes dirty work
· Able to communicate professionally with customers
· Able to work both independently and as part of a team
· Flexible regarding working hours when required
· Safety-conscious and able to follow instructions and procedures
A full UK driving licence is essential.
Previous experience in drainage, plumbing, construction, groundworks, maintenance or another practical trade would be beneficial but is not essential.

Salary
Salary will be dependent on age, previous experience and existing skills and will be discussed during the recruitment process.
Pay will be reviewed as training progresses and the successful candidate develops the skills required to work independently.
Working Hours
This is a full-time position. Due to the nature of the drainage industry, some flexibility will be required, and there may be opportunities for overtime and out-of-hours/on-call work once appropriately trained.
