About this opportunity
We are seeking several Senior level Health and Safety Consultants on a contractual basis. You will support our client on large scale construction sites, from project initiation to completion. We require individuals with a minimum 3 years post qualification experience on construction projects under CDM 2015, you must also have a recognised level 6 safety qualification NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 6 H&S etc.
We require individuals across multiple UK locations, including but not limited to London, Norwich, Nottingham, Birmingham, Newcastle and Plymouth.
Please note- this is a full time, on-site position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supporting business unit directors in delivering business objectives;
- Monitoring and working with the principal contractor appointed to complete the project;
- Attending regular meetings with the principal contractor;
- Providing support and assistance to the principal contractor and contractors on site;
- Positively engaging with our client and developing, growing and maintaining our relationship;
- Delivering a high quality service which ensures that services meet our client’s requirement;
- Managing the client’s health safety obligations on the project to deliver a high quality service;
- Advising and assisting the client with their duties under the CDM regulations and other construction related health and safety standards, regulations and legislations;
- Assisting with the coordination of health and safety aspects of design work;
- Cooperating with others involved with the project;
- Facilitating good communication between the client, designers and contractors;
- Liaising with the principal contractor regarding ongoing design work;
- Producing and presenting regular reports to our main client – this will involve prompt flash reports of major issues as well as comprehensive weekly and monthly reports detailing all aspects of health and safety management on site;
- Mentoring and coaching employees so that they realise their full potential;
- Preparing bids for services;
Advising directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or will arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance;
