Job summary
We are a small GP Practice based in S11. We have approximately 4000 patients.
We are looking for a permanent, long-term Medical Receptionist to join our friendly team
Around 10-16 hours per week, plus sickness and holiday cover.
With the flexibility to cover shifts between Monday - Friday 8am - 6.30pm when required.
Summary of Role
To provide a high standard Reception Service to the Patients, including ensuring that enquiries are promptly, efficiently and courteously handled.
Reception Duties
Be responsible for the opening and closing of the premises in the morning and evenings, including setting and restoring the telephone service and Alarm System
Monitor Reception and Waiting Room areas, including making Patients aware of late-running surgeries
Acknowledge and arrange Patient appointments
Process prescription requests
Handle in-person/telephone enquiries
Liaise with GPs and Practice staff regarding Patient issues
Liaise with Hospitals re Patient blood results/queries etc
Update computer and manual records, as necessary
Alter changes of address/phone numbers promptly on Patient records
Deliveries Sign delivery notes when received and put in the appropriate folder on reception
Follow the cold chain protocol when receiving vaccination deliveries
Follow the cold chain protocol for recording fridge temperatures twice daily when the HCA or Nurse is not on the premises.
Open, stamp and distribute the Internal Post by scanning onto SystmOne
Provide cover for other Reception staff when necessary
New Patient and Temporary residents registrations
Such other duties within the scope of the role as may be agreed from time to time.
