Overview
We are seeking an Engineering Storeman to join our team on a temporary basis and oversee the efficient management of engineering materials, tools, and equipment within our facilities. This role ensures seamless optimal stock control, and effective supply chain coordination. The ideal candidate will be happy to work either 07.00-15.00 or 08.00-16.00 and thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong organisational skills, technical knowledge, and a proactive approach to process improvement. Your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and operational excellence across engineering stores.
Duties
- To ensure all Engineering stock is up to date and correctly itemised and this information logged into a Database system.
- To ensure all stock items are stored correctly and in the correct stores designated area.
- To ensure all stock purchased is within the pre-set budget allocation.
- To liaise with suppliers, to cover all parts and consumables, both Engineering and Production requirements.
- To ensure all parts are clearly marked and easily available to the Engineers.
- To ensure all documentation is kept in the relevant systems and available.
- Other ad hoc responsibilities that may be reasonably required by the Engineering Team Leader commensurate with the grade of the post.
- Adhere to all organisational policies and procedures including Food Safety and Health and Safety legislation requirements. As an employee, the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 requires you to take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other people at work.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a similar role.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team while maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy.
