Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Handy Person to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving various facilities and equipment across our premises. The Handy Person will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of our environment through proactive maintenance and hands-on repairs.
Duties
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs.
- Perform repairs involving welding, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams.
- Carry out preventative maintenance tasks.
- Lead contractors during repair or installation projects, supervising work to ensure safety standards are met.
- Assist with the installation of new equipment or infrastructure upgrades.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
- Ensure all health and safety checks are carried and recorded as per the managers request.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal or external client requests promptly and professionally.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in maintenance, electrical work, or mechanical repair roles.
- Electrical experience including wiring, circuit boards, and control systems.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervising experience in a technical environment.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Customer service orientation with a professional approach to client interactions.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks as required.
