Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive attitude. Responsibilities
- Assist with meal preparation and food assembly according to specified recipes and standards
- Support the culinary team with food safety practices and hygiene protocols
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and organising supplies
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout shifts
- Help with the organisation of stock and storage areas to ensure efficient workflow
- Serve meals to customers or staff in a courteous and professional manner
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment
- Assist with catering events and special functions as required
Requirements
- Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Basic cooking and meal preparation skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks within the kitchen setting
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends or evenings if necessary
