As our Kitchen Porter, you’ll ensure the smooth running of the whole of our bakery, with consistency, pride, and attention to detail. The role goes beyond washing up: you will receive and manage daily deliveries, keep our prep and storage spaces organised, and ensure that the entire operation runs smoothly and to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency. You’ll be proactive, physically fit with strong communication skills and a team-player mindset. You'll work closely with the Head Baker and Front of House teams.
Key Responsibilities Kitchen Operations
- Maintain strict adherence to daily and weekly cleaning schedules
- Ensure bins, waste areas, and storage are always clean and well-managed
- Take full ownership of site cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation
- Wash and sanitise equipment, utensils and surfaces
Logistics & Deliveries
- Receive and check deliveries
- Store deliveries promptly, accurately, and safely
- Keep fridges and storage spaces organised, clean and compliant
Team Support & Flexibility
- Work closely with kitchen and FOH teams
- Maintain a flexible, can-do attitude; stepping up and supporting where needed
Health & Safety & Food Safety
- Ensure that the kitchens meet statutory and company requirements of Health and Safety, Food Safety and environmental legislation and procedures.
- Ensure all equipment is well maintained and is in good working order.
- Ensure safe working practices are followed and equipment faults are reported
You must have the right to work in the UK and be able to work early mornings and weekends. This is a full time position, 40 hours a week over 4 days, but we are also open to discussing part time hours. Salary of £27K pa, pension scheme, free lunch, coffee and staff discount.
