Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Dispensing Optician/Optical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting customers in selecting eyewear that best suits their needs, ensuring accurate fittings, and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires a strong understanding of optical products and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Greet and assist customers with their eyewear selections, providing expert advice on frames, lenses, and lens coatings.
- Perform accurate measurements with the latest technology assisted devices for eyeglasses, including pupillary distance and fitting adjustments.
- Maintain an organised display of eyewear products and ensure the cleanliness of the optical area.
- Collaborate with optometrists to ensure seamless patient care and follow-up on prescriptions.
- Handle laboratory tasks such as frame adjustments as needed.
- Educate customers on proper eyewear care and maintenance.
- Stay updated on the latest trends in eyewear fashion and technology.
- Potential to be involved supporting our specialist contact lens, dry eye and dry AMD treatment clinics.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of anatomy related to vision and eye care.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
