Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our busy culinary team. This role is vital in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. The successful candidate will assist with basic food preparation and ensure all kitchen areas meet health and safety standards. Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience within a professional kitchen environment.
Duties
- Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to ensure hygiene standards are met
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment throughout shifts
- Support the organisation of stock and supplies in storage areas
- Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health regulations
- Ensure all work areas are kept tidy and safe at all times
- Assist with general cleaning duties to uphold the high standards of the establishment
Skills
- Basic understanding of food preparation and kitchen hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills related to cooking and hospitality operations
- Experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is desirable but not essential
- Friendly attitude with excellent teamwork and communication skills
