Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Class 1 HIAB Driver to join our team. This role involves operating a large flatbed wagon and drag lorry equipped with a HIAB crane, delivering goods efficiently and safely across various locations. The ideal candidate will possess a valid HGV Class 1 licence, experience in commercial driving, and familiarity with flatbed transportation. Duties
- Safely operate a HGV Class 1 lorry fitted with a HIAB crane for the transportation of goods.
- Load and unload cargo using the HIAB crane, ensuring secure handling of materials.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and routine maintenance to ensure roadworthiness.
- Plan delivery routes effectively, adhering to schedules and traffic regulations.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logs.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of goods on-site when required.
- Maintain high standards of safety, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Communicate professionally with clients and warehouse staff during deliveries.
Experience
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence with up-to-date CPC certification.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles.
- Experience operating a HIAB crane is highly desirable but training can be provided for suitable candidates.
- Delivery driver experience demonstrating punctuality and reliability.
- Knowledge of current road laws and safety regulations relevant to heavy goods vehicle operation.
- Ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading/unloading cargo safely and efficiently.
