We are working with a welcoming Autism Specialist School that is looking to appoint a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team from September.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support young children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) during the early stages of their education, helping them to develop their communication, social, emotional and independence skills within a nurturing and highly supportive environment.

The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider multidisciplinary team to provide tailored support for pupils with autism and associated communication and learning needs.
You will play a key role in creating a positive, engaging and structured learning environment where every child can thrive and achieve their individual goals.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- Assisting with the delivery of engaging, play-based Early Years learning activities.
- Encouraging the development of communication, social interaction and emotional regulation skills.
- Implementing individual support strategies and behaviour plans.
- Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and daily living skills.
- Supporting personal care where required.
- Building positive relationships with pupils, families and the wider school team.
- Promoting a safe, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.

We are looking for candidates who:
- Have experience working with children, ideally within an Early Years or SEND setting.
- Have an understanding of Autism Spectrum Condition or are keen to develop their knowledge.
- Are patient, caring and resilient.
- Can build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
- Are confident supporting children with a range of communication and sensory needs.
- Work well as part of a collaborative team.
- Are committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued.
