We are seeking a friendly and professional Retail Assistant for our pawnbrokers shop. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, managing merchandise, and supporting daily operations within a busy retail environment. Duties
- Greeting customers warmly and assisting with their enquiries in a courteous manner
- Managing merchandise displays and ensuring the shop is well-presented at all times
- Conducting transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems and handling cash or card payments
- Upselling products and services to maximise sales opportunities
- Providing information about pawnbroking services and loan terms to customers
- Maintaining organised records of transactions and stock levels
- Handling phone enquiries professionally following proper phone etiquette
- Assisting with stock replenishment and inventory management
- Supporting the team with daily operational tasks to ensure smooth shop functions
Skill
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively
- Basic maths skills for handling cash, calculating prices, and managing stock counts
- Customer-focused attitude with friendly interpersonal skills
- Ability to upsell products tactfully to enhance sales performance
- Good organisational skills to keep the shop tidy and well-stocked
- Effective phone etiquette for handling customer calls professionally
- Experience in merchandising or retail sales is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
