About the role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time Business Support Officer to join the Children & Young People's Service (CYPS) Business Support Team, based at Knaresborough Children's Centre.
Working closely with the NYC Fostering Service, you will provide high-quality administrative support to the fostering recruitment process and assist Assessing and Supervising Social Workers with case management activities. This is a varied role that requires excellent organisational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a collaborative approach to meeting deadlines.
About you:
You will be a motivated and professional administrator with excellent communication and customer service skills. As a key member of the team, you will regularly liaise with foster carers, social workers, and partner agencies while handling sensitive and confidential information.
The role involves providing administrative support across the fostering recruitment, assessment, and duty functions, including:
- Managing fostering enquiries and applications
- Supporting emergency foster carer approvals, exemption requests, and case closures
- Processing foster carer financial claims
- Maintaining accurate records on the LCS database
- Attending meetings and producing live notes when required
You will have strong ICT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications, and a good understanding of data protection, equality and diversity, and health and safety requirements within an office environment.
