About Us
Established for over 30 years, we are a friendly, family-run independent Jaguar specialist repair garage based in Ely. We pride ourselves on delivering main-dealer level diagnostics and mechanical repairs with the honest service and personal touch of a long-standing local business.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on technician to join our close-knit team in a varied, dual-focused role. This position is split roughly 70% workshop/diagnostics and 30% front of house.
It is ideal for a skilled mechanic who enjoys the technical challenge of the workshop, but also likes variety in their day—stepping out of the bays to take calls, book in jobs, and deal directly with our customers.
How the Role Breaks Down
In the Workshop (~70%):
· Diagnostics & Repairs: Carrying out complex diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs on modern and classic Jaguars.
· Servicing & Maintenance: General servicing, MOT work, and maintenance across specialist vehicles.
· Teamwork: Working alongside the workshop team to keep jobs moving efficiently.
Front of House & Admin (~30%):
· Customer Service: Answering phone calls, emails taking bookings, and greeting customers at the desk.
· Administration: Ordering parts, looking up job details, and creating customer invoices.
· Communication: Explaining technical repairs clearly to vehicle owners and keeping them updated throughout the process.
Requirements
· Technical Background: Strong hands-on mechanical and diagnostic experience (JLR or specialist experience is a bonus, but strong technical ability is key).
· People Skills: Friendly, professional phone manner and confidence dealing with customers face-to-face.
· IT & Admin: Comfortable using basic garage management software and computers for job cards and parts ordering.
· Driving Licence: Full UK Driving Licence required.
