Eco2 Management Services Limited (EMSL) is looking for an experienced Operations & Maintenance Technician to join our team supporting Low Carbon Farming’s energy centres in Norwich and Bury St Edmunds. This is a full time, permanent post.
This is a varied, hands-on role responsible for helping to ensure that the sites operate safely, reliably and efficiently. You will undertake planned and reactive maintenance, operate and monitor plant, respond to faults and support improvements to plant reliability and performance.

The package for this role includes:
· A salary of £29,451.96
· £150 for each week spent on call
· Overtime paid at a minimum of 1.5 times the basic rate

The role
Working across both sites, you will:
· Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance, including mechanical repairs, inspections, testing and lubrication.
· Operate and monitor equipment including CHP engines, heat pumps, gas boilers, heat exchangers, water treatment systems, pumps, valves and associated site utilities.
· Monitor plant performance through SCADA systems and respond appropriately to alarms, faults and deteriorating equipment conditions.
· Support planned shutdowns, outages, recommissioning and emergency response activities.
· Identify recurring defects and opportunities to improve plant safety, reliability and performance.
· Accurately record work, plant readings, inspections and equipment history using the Computerised Maintenance Management System.
· Supervise contractors working on site, ensuring that appropriate permits and safety controls are in place.
· Complete risk assessments and work in accordance with approved RAMS, safe systems of work and Permit to Work procedures.
Maintain high standards of safety, environmental compliance and housekeeping.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working in industrial maintenance, energy generation, utilities, manufacturing or another process plant environment.
- Has strong practical mechanical skills and a good understanding of rotating equipment.
- Can approach plant faults logically and carry out systematic fault-finding.
- Is comfortable working independently, taking ownership and using their initiative.
- Takes a safety-first approach and follows safe systems of work.
- Communicates clearly and works well with colleagues, contractors and other stakeholders.
- Is organised, dependable and able to prioritise work in a busy operational environment.
- Can maintain accurate records and is comfortable using Microsoft Office and other digital systems.
- Holds a full UK driving licence and can travel between both sites.
- Has the right to work in the UK without employer sponsorship.
- Is able to participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota.
It would be an advantage if you have
· An NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Maintenance Engineering.
· Experience working with CHP engines, heat pumps or boiler plant, particularly Jenbacher engines.
· Experience maintaining pumps, heat exchangers or water treatment systems.
· Experience using a CMMS, ideally FiiX, or SCADA systems.
· Permit to Work and isolation or lock-off/tag-out experience.
· IOSH Working Safely, PASMA, Working at Height, Confined Space or First Aid training.
