OP Chocolate currently have a fantastic opportunity to become part of our team, the position we are recruiting for is a Factory Floor Quality Technician . Based in the heart of South Wales, OP Chocolate Ltd has been baking quality wafers for over 75 years.
Role Purpose
The Factory Floor Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that all products manufactured at OP Chocolates consistently meet food safety, legality, customer and company quality standards.
Working closely with Production, Engineering, Planning and Warehousing teams, the role provides a visible quality assurance presence on the factory floor, proactively identifying risks, promoting Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), supporting continuous improvement initiatives and helping to ensure products are manufactured Right First Time (RFT).
The role supports the site's commitment to quality excellence through auditing, investigation, process verification, corrective action management, traceability, compliance monitoring, and customer-focused quality assurance activities.

Shift Pattern: Days and Afternoons - rotating weekly
Rate of pay: £15.14
Key Responsibilities
· Food Safety, Quality & Compliance: GMP monitoring, hygiene inspections, line clearances, allergen verification, HACCP verification, CCP assessments, metal detection checks, traceability exercises, mass balance, glass and brittle plastic controls, NCR management and documentation control.
· Auditing, Investigation & Corrective Action: GMP audits, complaint investigations, metal reject investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, audit support, concessions management and engineering verification activities.
· Quality Assurance & Technical Support: product specification review, microbiological sampling support, intake inspections, retention samples, code sheet management, quality records maintenance and technical support to operational teams.
· Continuous Improvement: drive Right First-Time performance, analyse trends, reduce waste and complaints, promote proactive problem solving and support food safety culture development.
· Communication & Collaboration: build effective cross-functional relationships, support audits, attend quality meetings and communicate quality concerns effectively.
